golf cart access to the historic Madisonville Country
Club which has hosted several major golf tournaments beginning
with the 1936 Kentucky Open. In 1980, the Kentucky State
Amateur was held at the course. The Women's Kentucky State
Amateur was held here in 1990. The 2004 Kentucky State
Senior Amateur was held at Madisonville Country Club in
July 2004.
The
Madisonville Country Club golf course has been a qualifying site of the prestigious
Southern Amateur since 1999. In 2000 & 2003, the United States Amateur Qualifier
sectional has been held at this beautiful golf course in Western Kentucky. Players
from as far away as Texas and the southeastern United States come to these tournaments.
